Kate Maxwell

Hello from the Arctic! I live in Tromsø with my family: two goats (kids), a puppy, and Goatfather. We moved to Norway for work in 2012 and have never looked back. Although originally from the UK (Geordieland/Glasgow), I moved first to France (Paris) and then to Sweden (Jönköping, where the goats were born) before settling in Norway.

I work as an associate professor in music history and analysis at the University of Tromsø. But at the moment I am on holiday! And this year, for the first time, it really is a holiday. So join me for a week exploring the Norwegian Arctic – starting on the hurtigrute (‘coastal express’ boat) to Kirkenes and back. You can expect scenery, goats, wine, midnight sun, boats, and of course music.
